Dr. (Mrs.) Adebimpe Olugbeminiyi Adebiyi is a Nigerian born on 12th October, 1962 in Sagamu, Ogun State. After her secondary education at Remo Secondary School, Sagamu in 1979 and Higher School Certificate at the Federal Government College, Odogbolu in 1981, she bagged a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) Degree at the University of Ibadan, in 1986. She was conferred with Diploma in Clinical Dentistry by the Kyushu University, Japan in 1993, Masters Degree in Health Planning and Management by the University of Benin in 1995 and awarded a Certificate in Health Care Financing by Boston University, USA in 1998 as well as Diploma in Health Systems Management by Galilee College, Israel in 2008. She participated in the 10-month intensive Senior Executive Course of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies, Kuru and was awarded Membership of the National Institute in November 2013. In January 2014, she was also awarded a Fellowship of the International College of Dentists (FICD) in recognition of her contribution to the development of Dentistry in Nigeria.
Dr Adebiyi began her career in the Federal Civil Service at the Federal Dental Clinic, at No.1 Broad Street, Lagos as a Dental Officer II in November 1989 under the Federal Ministry of Health. Her career progression traverses sundry areas of the Nigerian healthcare delivery system, including general dental practice, healthcare financing, manpower development, coordination and supervision of Federal Tertiary Health Institutions, policy formulation to leverage the development of oral health. She rose to the position of the Chief Dental Officer of the Federation in November 2009. After acting as the Director, Hospital Services Department from May-June 2016 was appointed as Head, Family Health Department in July, 2016.
In furtherance of her determination to contribute to the development of the Nigerian Health System, Adebimpe Adebiyi’s personal career goal is to use her God-given prowess in transforming inefficient systems to internationally acceptable performance standards pivoted on cost effective models. On this strength, in 2007, she received the Ministerial Award for Outstanding performance and commitment to the goals of the Organization in recognition of hard work and dedication to the advancement of the mandate of the Federal Ministry of Health.
