The Management and staff of the Federal Ministry of Health extend deepest condolences to His Excellency the President on the loss of a trusted functionary, and to the family and friends on the demise of an icon figure, Mallam Abba Kyari , Chief of Staff  to President Muhammadu Buhari, who sadly passed away on Friday, 17th April, 2020.

The Honourable Minister of Health, Dr. Osagie Ehanire, has described Mallam Abba Kiyari was an exemplary, unpretentious and self-effacing leader who discharged his duties with diligence devotion and integrity. Nigeria has lost an industrious and visionary statesman to the novel coronavirus, COVID-19.

The Minister reiterated that, “The Federal Ministry of Health, its Agencies and Departments will continue to strive to curb the coronavirus and ensure that our citizens are protected and free of COVID-19”.

Dr. Ehanire asked Almighty God to grant him peaceful repose and his family fortitude to bear the loss.
